Each year around 200,000 children worldwide are born with a clubfoot. About 80% of those cases are born in poor or middle income countries.
Operation Footprint is an international not-for-profit organization established to free children and families from the physical, emotional, and economic burden of clubfoot.
Operation Footprint began as the Baja Project for Crippled Children about 40 years ago. Podiatrists from Southern California volunteerd services to the Red Cross in Baja Mexico. They trained podiatric surgical residents in foot and ankle surgeries. This program has grown to become Operation Footprint providing services to children in, India, Honduras and El Salvador.
